Who we are

Tommy Ung & Partners PLT (202006000027 (LLP0025192-LCA)) (“TU&P”, “we”) of 6-2, Suite B, Jalan Puteri 2/4, Bandar Puteri, 47100 Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia, is the data controller for personal data collected through www.tupartners.co. This notice covers this website and related enquiries and recruitment applications. Personal data we handle in the course of a professional engagement is governed by the terms of that engagement.

Personal data we collect

Enquiry form: your name, company, email address, contact number and the content of your message.
Emails you send us: the information in your email and any attachment, including a curriculum vitae if you send a recruitment enquiry.
Technical data: our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and time of request, to deliver and secure the site. Our spam check on the enquiry form (Cloudflare Turnstile) processes your IP address and browser and device signals to tell people from automated traffic. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

You provide enquiry and application information directly. Technical data is collected automatically when you use the website. Please do not send us sensitive personal data, such as information about your health or religious beliefs, or identity card or bank account numbers, through this website or by email before an engagement is agreed.

Why we use it

To respond to your enquiry and to communicate with you about it.
To carry out engagement acceptance procedures if you ask us to act.
To consider a recruitment enquiry or application.
To keep the website secure and prevent misuse of the enquiry form.
To comply with legal and professional obligations.

By sending the enquiry form or emailing us, you consent to our processing your personal data for these purposes.

What you must provide

Providing your name, email address and message is necessary for us to reply. Other fields are voluntary. If you do not provide the necessary information, we will not be able to respond.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We disclose it only to our associated entities where they provide the service you have asked about; to service providers that operate the website and our email on our behalf (website hosting, form delivery, spam protection and email services); to our professional advisers where needed; and to regulators or authorities where the law requires. Fonts on this website are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.

Some of these providers process data on servers outside Malaysia. We transfer personal data outside Malaysia only where the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 permits.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and recruitment correspondence only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. If you become a client or join the firm, your information is then handled under the terms of that engagement or employment.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are forwarded to our email system and are not stored on the website. Access to our email is restricted to authorised personnel.

Your rights and choices

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may:

ask for access to your personal data and a copy of it (we may charge the fee the Act permits for a data access request);
ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
withdraw your consent, or ask us to limit how we process your personal data;
ask us to transmit your personal data to another data controller, where technically feasible; and
make an inquiry or complaint about how we have handled your personal data.

You can also choose to contact us by telephone instead of using the form. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to continue responding to your enquiry. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we respond within the time the Act requires.
